About me
HOLISTIC INTEGRATIVE PERSON CENTRED
I am a neurological occupational therapist based in Western Australia. I work with adults living with changes in thinking, movement, sensation and fatigue after neurological conditions, with a special interest in supporting people with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
I am passionate about helping people rebuild everyday routines, roles and identities after life-changing events. My approach is calm, collaborative and practical and I take the time to understand what matters most to each person and tailor therapy so it feels relevant and achievable.
My story
I came to Occupational therapy a little later in life after trying on a few other professions. When I finally landed in OT, I felt I had found my place and the diversity of a neurological specialty keeps me engaged. I have extensive experience in neurological rehabilitation across hospital, community and outpatient settings. I have worked with people at many stages of recovery, from early rehabilitation through to longer-term community support.
Over the years, I have been incredibly fortunate to have been mentored by some of the leading neuro therapists in Australia and I now feel privileged to use and teach my skills to others. In fact, teaching and mentoring is something I enjoy most in my current practice.
I have grown to embrace a spiritual side and strive to be as authentic to myself in all facets of my life. This being said, my family, do not take to being "OT'd" all the time and so, when I am not wearing my "OT badge", I am mum of 2 boys and fur child, Jazz, which keeps life full and active. We love camping, finding new places to explore and being in nature (which seems to be the only socially acceptable place for us to be at this stage in life).
My background has taught me that no two recovery journeys are the same. I continue to draw on both clinical knowledge and the lived experience to shape flexible, person-centered therapy plans but mostly I enjoy being able to use experiences to connect on a deeper level with others and create authentic relationships with people.
I support individuals in reclaiming their independence by mastering daily activities, enhancing movement, and modifying environments for various neurological conditions, including:• Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and concussions• Stroke recovery• Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)• Guillain–Barré Syndrome (GBS)• Neurodegenerative conditions• ADHD managementTogether, we can focus on specific goals such as:- Facilitating a safe return to work or study- Assessing and supporting a return to driving- Sustainable fatigue and pain management strategies- Developing sensory diets for nervous system regulation- Upper limb therapy and motor skill rehabilitation- Targeted cognitive and visual-perceptual retrainingMy practice philosophy is built on three pillars:Holistic: I consider the interplay between your physical health, emotional well-being, and environment.Integrative: I combine diverse therapeutic methods and coordinate with your broader healthcare team for seamless care.Person-centred: I honor your unique journey, ensuring therapy moves at your pace and aligns with your personal values.
